BACKUP & DISASTER RECOVERY

KPI Backup & Disaster Recovery is more than just another place to replicate your data. It is a total plan to ensure the availability of your applications and protection of your data in the event of a disaster. Depending upon how your servers are hosted, we will often use a combination of hardware, software and management services to actively backup your servers and provide a means by which to restore applications under potential downtime scenarios.

FOR SERVERS ON PREMISE

We will install a Backup Recovery Device (BDR) onsite. The BDR will take continuous "snapshots" of the operating servers and store them on the BDR. Snapshots don't just backup your data, they capture every configuration of the attached server making it possible to simply upload a single "image" file to another piece of hardware and bring that server back up and running quickly. In the event that your operating server fails, we will install the most recent snapshot onto the BDR device and the BDR takes over for the operating server and performs all the same functions until the failing server can be repaired.

OFF-SITE STORAGE FOR SERVERS ON PREMISE

You may choose to have your BDR replicated to offsite storage. This offers an additional layer of redundancy and ensures that your business is protected even if your office is struck by disaster. All data sent offsite is encrypted and stored in redundant, geographically diverse enterprise data center facilities which are managed by 24x7x365 NOC support. Additional charges apply.

FOR SERVERS IN CLOUD

If your company has servers hosted the cloud, backup and disaster recovery services are typically provided by the hosting vendor. This may vary based on the client's current hosting contracts. KPI will work with any hosting vendor, either KPI strategic partner or otherwise, to ensure that your cloud-based backup and disaster recovery environment is being properly monitored and supported.

MONITORING & VERIFICATION

Backups are monitored 24x7x365. If a backup job fails or was less than 100% complete, we get automatically alerted. We investigate and resolve the problem ensuring that the most up-to-date images of your environment are readily available.
